Abstract

This short essay proposes an anthropological and cultural reflection on the need of our species for an education in non-violence, that is, a demand for self-preservation and real control of violence. The text discusses the fact that violence is a human issue; that the principles of non-violence are an ancient and very current issue; that education is linked to rationalism in this; that there is a non-violent education and an education in non-violence and that, finally, in these processes, the educator must be a mediator in the conflicts that are declared between students and at the same time must educate them about the consequences of violence.
