La historia de la humanidad en la conquista de los derechos humanos y, entre ellos, el respeto por las libertades de conciencia religiosa y de culto, está escrita en algunas páginas luminosas y oscuras y atroces. A pesar que desde la antigüedad clásica hasta la posmodernidad se ha luchado para que esos derechos inherentes a la condición humana sean una realidad para todos los hombres de todas las latitudes, ese ideal sigue aguardando su concreción.
