Although the relationship between old age and disability is obvious, it is not always taken seriously, thus confirming the rule: what is in front of the eyes is not easy to be seen with due clarity. For many of us, getting old and becoming disabled are things that “only happen to others”. The proposal put forward here is to make it clear that old age and disability are interconnected realities. The only way to avoid old age is to die young; the only way to avoid each and every form of disability is to age with the same health and strength that one had in youth, which is not impossible, but it is quite rare. Either way, there is light at the end of the tunnel for all of us.Downloads
