RELEVANCIA Y PERTINENCIA ACTUAL DE LA TEOLOGÍA DE LA LIBERACIÓN

Abstract

Se analiza la relevancia de la teología de la liberación (TL) en el contexto teológico actual. Se plantea una refutación al planteamiento de que la TL ha muerto y que no tiene vigencia. El autor señala que aunque la TL no tiene el mismo impacto mediático que tenía en la década de 1970, eso no implica que esté muerta. Al contrario, está presente con más dinamismo y se ha diversificado en una serie de movimientos teológicos con el mismo fundamento ideológico inicial. En muchos sentidos hoy es más complejo enfrentar la TL de lo que era hace algunas décadas, especialmente por el impacto del pensamiento liberacionista y porque en muchos círculos teológicos sus postulados han sido incorporados como válidos. AbstractThe relevance of Liberation Theology (LT) within the present theological context is analyzed. Moreover, the author presents a refutation to the position that LT has died and does not have validity. While LT does not have the same impact it had in the decade of the 1970s, this does not mean that it is dead. On the contrary, it exists with more dynamism and has diversified into a series of theological movements which share the same ideological foundation. In a sense, today it is more complex to confront LT than it was some decades ago, particularly because of the impact of liberationist thinking and the validation of LT postulates in many theological circles.
