IMAGINA UN DIÁLOGO DESPUÉS DE LA TRAGEDIA: UN ESTUDIO EXEGÉTICO DE AMÓS 6:8-14

Resumen

Amós 6:8-14 es una mezcla de prosa y poesía. Por medio de este párrafo el profeta condena la actitud pedante de Israel y su desinterés por el mensaje de YHWH. El castigo es inminente e Israel ignora la advertencia. El extravagante diseño literario de esta sección es uno de los recursos que el profeta usa para describir el estado confuso y desesperado de la nación. Amós altera intencionalmente su composición literaria para describir enfáticamente la situación espiritual de Israel. Este estudio tiene el propósito de confirmar la originalidad literaria del profeta al producir un texto con evidentes alteraciones intencionales del lenguaje. En resumen, no es necesario suponer que esta sección contiene defectos de transmisión o una redacción enmendada. Por el contrario, mediante un estudio textual y literario es posible descubrir una composición retórica original, intencional y particular de Amós al resaltar la condición espiritual defectuosa de Israel, tan defectuosa como el lenguaje utilizado por el autor en esta sección. AbstractThe passage of Amos 6:8-14 contains a mix of prose and poetry. By means of this section the prophet condemns Israel‟s easy-going attitude and its lack of interest in the message of YHWH. Judgment is imminent and Israel ignores the warnings. The odd literary design of the section is one of the means that the prophet utilizes to describe the confused and perplexed state of the nation. Amos alters intentionally his literary composition in order to emphatically portray the spiritual situation of Israel. This study seeks to confirm the literary originality of the prophet who produced a text with evident and intentional linguistic changes. In summary, it is suggested that it is not necessary to posit text-critical problems that—due to a complex and faulty transmission process—result in different emendations. Quite opposite, a careful textual and literary analysis of the section reveals a highly original rhetorical composition that is both intentional and particular to Amos‟ style and that is employed to describe the flawed spiritual condition of Israel, which is as flawed as the language that the author of this section employs.
