Death has always generated more questions than answers. Each culture has dealt with
it in different ways. What are the most common beliefs about it? Why have they taken
the same reality in different ways? To answer these questions it is important to define
the concept of worldview, and how it affects the understanding of death and the
beliefs of punishment or reward after it. This article will describe various worldviews
and their integration with these themes. The worldview of the great cosmic conflict is
proposed as the most appropriate to interpret the anthropological and eschatological
aspects referred to. Finally, leaders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church are invited
to disciple at the worldview level regarding the death and destiny of humanity in the
face of current proposals.
