Pauline creed in 1 Corinthions 15,3-5? Literary and exegetical analysis of the phrase. Paredōka gar humin en prōtois ho kai parelabon

Abstract

The present paper will carry out a critical analysis of the interpretative proposal according to which 1 Corinthians 15,3-5 repeats a creed of apostolic Christianity. To this end, a semantic and intertextual analysis of key terms present in the studied verses will be implemented. It will be concluded that 1 Corinthians 15,3-5 does not belong to a creed, either oral or written of Aramaic or Hellenic origin, but was composed by the apostle Paul himself, who reuses popular history among the apostles as he did in 1 Corinthians 10,1-4 where he narrates a story known among the Hebrews. The studied verses do not have an intrinsic relationship with the account of the resurrection present in the Gospels.
