Abstract

The debate about the ordination of women in the Seventh-day Adventist Church has faced the obstacle of the absence of an explicit Biblical statement on the topic. Therefore, it is necessary to extrapolate biblical teachings related to this issue from various scriptural texts. This implies that hermeneutics plays a fundamental role in the debate. This article discusses the basic principles of biblical hermeneutics that are used to interpret biblical passages related to the ordination of women.
