Abstract

This article offers a critical reflection on the interactions between Adventism and postmodernity, two concepts that, in many ways, seem to be in tension. Through the proposed analysis, the implications of postmodernity for Adventist identity are explored, particularly regarding its focus on truth and the interpretation of Scripture. It is argued that while postmodernity challenges many of Adventism’s traditional certainties, it also presents an opportunity for this faith to reaffirm its relevance in a changing world. Finally, strategies are proposed for Adventism to engage in dialogue with postmodernity in a way that maintains its essence while addressing contemporary challenges.
