The worldview of war: A brief description and evaluation
Keywords:
Warfare worldview — Gregory Boyd — Cosmic conflict — Theodicy — Open theism — Evil — Divine sovereigntyAbstract
This article provides a brief description and evaluation of Gregory Boyd’s “warfare worldview,” which interprets the cosmic conflict between good and evil as a central reality in the biblical narrative. Although Boyd challenges both post-Enlightenment rationalism and classical philosophical tradition, his approach presents some significant limitations. The critique focuses on the need for a deeper understanding of the problem of evil and divine sovereignty that respects the integrity of the biblical text. Exploring alternatives within the Adventist theological tradition can significantly contribute to a deeper and more coherent Judeo-Christian theology.Downloads
