Author Guidelines

1. Each manuscript submitted for possible publication in DER should be unpublished and delivered in a digital copy. The management system on the journal website should be used for submissions.

2. DER publishes articles in both Spanish and English.

3. DER follows the style of references indicated in University of Chicago. Press. The Chicago Manual of Style. 16th ed. Chicago: The University of Chicago Press, 2010. The proposed article should meet the standards specified in this manual. The quotation system should be Notes-Bibliography style.

4. Manuscripts are evaluated through an anonymous peer review by members of the editorial board, the advisory board, or other experts in the field convened to that purpose, according to the article specialty or orientation. The criteria to determine the acceptance, observation, or rejection of an article include (1) logic; (2) argumentation; (3) adequate documentation and references; (4) style. The result of the evaluation, which will be communicated to the author, can be "recommended for publication", "recommended for publication (revisions needed)" and "recommended not for publication." The editorial board take the final, irrevocable decision.

5. DER publishes three types of works: (1) articles between 4000 to 12,000 words; (2) short notes between 1,000-4,000 words; and (3) case-law summaries of between 500-1500 words. In exceptional cases more extensive work could be considered, prior permission of the editorial board. Each article or brief note must be accompanied by an abstract of between 100 and 200 words.

6. The editorial board may entrust the writing of book reviews of between 500-1500 words. All relevant bibliographic data, including the price of the work, should be included. A brief and objective description of the content of the reviewed work is expected, followed by an assessment that highlights both positive and negative aspects regarding the specialized area of research and academic advancement. The language should be appropriate to the purpose of the summary. It is suggested that evaluation covers at least 50% of the review.

7. Once the author has been notified of the acceptance of their work for publication, no changes or additions will be accepted.

8. Before publishing the article, each author will receive a final copy of the work as it will be sent for printing, in order to be examined within the period indicated by the editor to verify appointments, notes and grammar.
