Desempenho ambiental, pegada de carbono e potencial de economia circularem uma fábrica de alimentos balanceados em Entre Ríos, Argentina:um estudo de caso

Resumo

Este estudo avalia de forma abrangente o desempenho ambiental e o potencial de aprofundamento da economia circular em uma fábrica de ração (produção de 1.000 t/mês) em Entre Ríos, Argentina. A metodologia combinou análises quantitativas (fluxos de material/energia, pegada de carbono parcial dos escopos 1 e 2 e transporte do escopo 3) e qualitativas (avaliação conceitual do ciclo de vida), usando dados primários da organização (cenário com 50% de matérias-primas próprias sob agricultura regenerativa e 50% externas) e fontes secundárias. Os resultados
indicam que a fábrica já implementa práticas sustentáveis importantes, como a agricultura regenerativa parcial e a recirculação total da poeira do processo. A pegada de carbono parcial foi estimada em ~82,21 t CO₂e/mês (82,21 kg CO₂e/tonelada de produto); dentro dessa métrica, o transporte total do escopo 3 (matérias-primas e produto acabado) representa o maior contribuinte (53,9%), seguido pelo consumo de eletricidade (escopo 2, 35,0%). Entretanto, conclui-se que o maior impacto potencial e a maior incerteza estão nas emissões externas não quantificadas da produção de matérias-primas (risco de mudança no uso da terra – LUC). Oportunidades significativas foram identificadas na eficiência energética, no gerenciamento de resíduos, na sustentabilidade da cadeia de suprimentos externa e, estrategicamente, na reformulação com subprodutos locais. A viabilidade de aprofundar a economia circular
e a agricultura regenerativa é confirmada, e uma LCA completa e estudos de viabilidade para melhorias são
recomendados.
