Tiempo y eternidad en el pensamiento kierkegaardiano

Resumen

El artículo se propone mostrar la originalidad del pensamiento kierkegaardiano en el análisis existencial de las nociones de tiempo y eternidad. Ambas categorías espirituales –determinantes de la realidad del yo como sujeto singular existente– son abordadas por S. Kierkegaard en función del instante de la decisión libre, en el cual lo temporal y lo eterno se implican y se sostienen mutuamente. El instante constituye la presencia total de una acción absoluta, ejercida en la trascendencia y prolongada en el tiempo. En el instante, la eternidad asume el carácter concreto de la existencia humana y el devenir libre queda cualificado como historia personal. Este presente absoluto, que es presencia y realidad plena, expresa así la contemporaneidad del yo consigo mismo, con el Otro y los otros.SummaryThe paper intends to show the originality of kierkegaardian thought in the existential analysis of the concepts of time and eternity. Both spiritual categories –which determine the reality of the self as an existent singular being– are dealt with by Kierkegaard in relation to the instant of free decision, in which the temporal and the eternal are mutually implied and supported. The instant is the total presence of an absolute action, achieved in transcendence and extended in time. In the instant, eternity assumes the concrete character of human existence and free becoming is qualified as personal history. This absolute present, which is both full presence and reality, expresses thus the contemporaneousness of the self with itself, with the Other and the others.
